Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to Jewful's website, ticketing, event and community features, communications, and related offerings (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are operated by Nu Projects LLC, doing business as Jewful (“Jewful,” “we,” or “us”). Event organizers who sell tickets or communicate with attendees through Jewful also handle attendee information as described below.
The Services are intended for people who are at least 18 years old and are currently offered in the United States, with an initial focus on the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Jewful, we collect:
- Account information, such as your name, email address, mobile number, the verification codes we send you, and records of your sign-in sessions (including the IP address and browser used).
- Ticket and order information, such as the events you buy tickets for, ticket types, quantities, prices, discount codes, sales tax, order status, refunds, the names and email addresses of guests you send tickets to, ticket claims and transfers, and check-in records.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We give Stripe your name and email address with each payment, and Stripe uses them with your payment details to process the payment and screen it for fraud. Jewful receives transaction details such as amount, status, and payment references. Your card details are handled by Stripe and never reach Jewful's servers.
- Social and community information you choose to provide, such as an event profile introduction, the kinds of connections you are open to (for example friendship, networking, activity partners, or dating), and pregames or groups you join.
- Communication preferences and consent records, such as whether you opted in to an organizer's promotional email, the wording you were shown, when you chose it, and the IP address and browser used; unsubscribe and opt-out choices; and replies such as STOP or HELP to our texts.
- Information from event organizers. Organizers can import their attendee lists from Eventbrite into Jewful, including attendee names, contact details, ticket details, and answers to the organizer's registration questions. When an imported email address or mobile number matches one you have verified with Jewful, we connect that registration to your account so it appears in My tickets.
- Device and usage information, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, timestamps, the tagged link (for example a link with utm or ref parameters) that brought you to an event, and whether you opened or clicked a Jewful email.
- Messages and support requests you send to us.
We collect information directly from you, automatically when you use the Services, from other people (for example when a purchaser sends you a ticket), from event organizers, and from our service providers.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create, secure, and support accounts, including sending sign-in codes;
- sell and deliver tickets, process payments, refunds, and sales tax, let purchasers send tickets to guests, and check attendees in at events;
- send messages about your tickets and events, such as confirmations, reminders, and schedule, location, or cancellation notices, and, with your consent, an organizer's promotional email;
- run optional social features when you choose to join them, such as suggesting pregames and introductions and showing your event profile to other attendees who have joined;
- understand which links and campaign emails lead to ticket purchases, and report that to the event's organizer;
- promote Jewful and the events on it, including by measuring our ads and showing you ads on other websites and apps;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents, including limiting repeated sign-in and checkout attempts and declining purchases from people we have blocked;
- respond to support requests and privacy requests; and
- comply with law, including tax and accounting obligations, and protect users, Jewful, and others.
Text messages and mobile information
When you sign in with a mobile number, we text you a verification code. Once your number is verified, we may text you about your tickets and events, such as purchase and claim confirmations, reminders, schedule, location, or cancellation notices, and pregame updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, or use ourcontact form. For program details, see our SMS Terms & Conditions.
Jewful does not sell or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent status with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We disclose this information only to providers that deliver our texts, such as messaging platforms and carriers, and they may use it only to provide services to Jewful or as required by law.
Cookies and similar technologies
Jewful uses its own cookies, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity, and may use advertising cookies and pixels from advertising partners such as Google, Meta, and Microsoft.
- Sign-in: keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
- Order access: lets the browser that bought or opened an order manage its tickets, for up to 90 days.
- Link and campaign attribution: remembers, for up to 30 days, the tagged link or campaign email that brought you to an event, so a later purchase can be credited to it in the organizer's reports.
- Analytics: Google Analytics cookies tell us how visitors find Jewful and how far they get in buying tickets, such as which pages were viewed, the link or site that referred them, and, for a purchase, the event, ticket type, quantity, amount, and any discount code used. When you check out, we save the random identifier from your Google Analytics cookie with your order, so that if your browser does not report the purchase, our servers can report it to Google instead. We do not send Google your name, email address, or phone number. Learn how Google uses this information, or opt out with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
- Session recordings: Microsoft Clarity records how visitors move, click, and scroll on public pages, ticket pages, and account pages, so we can find where pages are confusing or broken. Text you type into forms is masked before it leaves your browser. Organizer and admin tools, and pages opened with a private ticket or email link, are not recorded. Microsoft collects this information using first- and third-party cookies and similar technologies, as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Advertising: we may use advertising cookies and pixels from partners such as Google, Meta, and Microsoft to measure how our ads perform, build audiences from visitors to Jewful, and show you ads for Jewful and its events on other websites and apps (retargeting), based on your activity on Jewful and other sites. When you buy tickets from a browser that has Meta's pixel cookie, we send Meta the purchase, that cookie, your IP address and browser type, and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address and phone number, so Meta can tell which ads led to it. You can limit this in Google's ad settings, Meta's ad preferences, and Microsoft's ad settings, or through industry opt-outs such as optout.aboutads.info.
Campaign emails contain links and may contain images that tell us whether a message was opened or clicked. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but signing in and checkout will not work without them.
Camera at check-in
Event staff can use their device camera on Jewful's check-in page to scan ticket QR codes. Codes are read on the staff member's device; Jewful does not record or store camera images.
Retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business, security, and legal purposes. For example, sign-in sessions expire after 30 days; order, payment, refund, and sales tax records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require; and consent and opt-out records are kept so we can show and honor your choices. We may keep deidentified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can update your name and organizer email preferences on your profile page. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information through our contact form. We may need to verify your identity first, and we may keep information when the law permits or requires it, such as order and tax records. Information an organizer already received is also held by that organizer.
You can unsubscribe from an organizer's promotional email with the link in any message, or tell us you can't attend an event to stop promotions about it. To stop texts, reply STOP. Social features are optional, and you can leave an event's social experience at any time.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Jewful evolves. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the Services or by email.
Questions or privacy requests may be sent through our contact form.
